KAZAK: the expedition
"To not see the forest for the trees" *** KAZAK: the expedition is the first performance in our trilogy KAZAK. The performance will be based on documentation and material from NONcompanys trip through the taiga forest, from Elverum in Norway to Vladivostok in The Russian Federation, summer 2011. Our starting point is to see the entire boreal forest, taiga as one big forest. In the world of NONcompany the national borders cease between the people of the taiga. Densly populated areas and cities with millions becomes groves and clearings in the totality of this enormous forest. All the inhabitants become one, taigans. The performance evolves around the search for belonging in an environment that feels familiar, but are unknown to us. It is about how one relates to unknown surroundings before one has actually been there, when one is in the middle of them, and how you relate to new surroundings you have just gotten to know. The question if one can see the forest for the trees are central in this first adaptation ofour collected material and impressions, and we will gradually change our position through the next parts og the KAZAK trilogy. *** This performance is made and performed by: Lise Risom Olsen Lena Lundsten Buchacz Hans Skogen Eirik Blekesaune Morten Pettersen Producer Tone Myklatun.
